Six-year-old Karter Thorpe was sitting in a car after his grandmother ‘Mimi’ picked him up from school and took a wrong turn, driving through the Lowe’s parking lot in Franklin, Virginia.
He noticed a man lying on the ground, and immediately told his grandmother, Carolyn Cook to stop and help.
Cook told WTKR:
Kids have an imagination to begin with so I’m just kind of ignoring it.
Karter refused to let the matter drop, and eventually Cook drove around to the man in an effort to show her grandson that he had nothing to worry about.
Upon closer inspection however, she noticed the man was unconscious, and called the ambulance while another person gave him CPR.
It turns out; the man was having a massive heart attack.
The man’s family, who wished to remain anonymous, reached out to Cook on Facebook to thank her and Karter for helping to save his life.
