As Britney Spears’ conservatorship continues to face public scrutiny, the “Toxic” singer has once again appeared to take aim at her family’s involvement in the “abusive” arrangement - in an Instagram post on Saturday which was liked by her sister, Jamie Lynn.
This is despite many commenters suggesting that Spears’ post was referencing her sibling, with people writing messages such as “Jamie Lynn is shaking” and “yessss drag Jamie Lynn, Queen”.
The post reads: “There’s nothing worse than when the people closest to you who never showed up for you post things in regard to your situation whatever it may be and speak righteously for support. There’s nothing worse than that!
“How dare the people you love the most say anything at all… Did they even put a hand out to even lift me up at the TIME? How dare you make it public that NOW you CARE.
“Did you put your hand out when I was drowning? Again… NO.”
No names were mentioned in the caption, prompting fans to speculate, and the fact that Jamie Lynn was found to have liked the post only fuelled their suspicions:
Jamie Lynn liked the post even though it’s directly calling her out. She’s SO weird. https://t.co/hyxXDzGpb1— Fan Account (@Fan Account) 1626564519

However, they didn’t need to speculate a day later, when Spears posted another image addressing her sister and her father James – who is co-conservator over her daughter’s affairs.
“Look, I’m not gonna be performing on any stages anytime soon with my dad handling what I wear, say, do, or think. I’ve done that for the past 13 years.
“I don’t like that my sister showed up at an awards show and performed MY SONGS to remixes! My so-called support system hurt me deeply! This conservatorship killed my dreams… so all I have is hope,” she wrote.
This post was once again liked by Jamie Lynn.
The two posts come after the “Toxic” singer was granted the right to choose her own lawyer over conservatorship matters on Wednesday, when she also told the court that she wanted her father to be charged for “conservatorship abuse”.
In documents filed with the court, Mr Spears said they must look into “serious allegations” regarding forced labour, medical treatment and therapy, as well as improper care and “limitations on personal rights”.
