Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly got engaged then ‘drank each other’s blood’ - the best reactions

2022 is officially the year of punk rock weddings.

Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly followed in Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker’s footsteps and got engaged – but with their own unique twist.

On Wednesday, the Transformers actress turned to Instagram to share the big news of their engagement with a short clip showcasing their proposal under a banyan tree at a ‘wellness spa’ in Puerto Rico.

What started as a sentimental statement professing her love towards her husband-to-be soon raised a few brows when she concluded: “…and then we drank each other’s blood.”

The 35-year-old penned to her 17.9 million followers: “In July of 2020 we sat under this banyan tree,

“We asked for magic,

“We were oblivious to the pain we would face together in such a short, frenetic period of time. Unaware of the work and sacrifices the relationship would require from us but intoxicated off of the love. And the karma.

“Somehow a year and a half later, having walked through hell together, and having laughed more than I ever imagined possible, he asked me to marry him.

“And just as in every lifetime before this one, and as in every lifetime that will follow it, I said yes.

“…and then we drank each other’s blood.”

She then cited that it took place on Tuesday 11 January.

Naturally, people turned to social media upon hearing about the big revelation – and of course, Twitter did its thing.

Roxane Gay, author of The New York Times best-selling essay collection Bad Feminist, said: “Truly delighted that Megan Fox and MGK drank each other’s blood upon their engagement. Finally, celebrities being harmlessly weird again.”

While others were quick to highlight the striking resemblance between MGK’s attire and the Footlocker uniform.

“How I act when a Footlocker employee brings out shoes that weren’t in stock anymore,” one user jested.

“Why do Megan Fox and MGK act like they served in WW2 together,” one joked about the intensified declaration of love.

Of course, the attention soon turned to fawn over the diamond and emerald ring.

“I know tradition is one ring, but i designed it with Stephen Webster to be two: the emerald (her birth stone) and the diamond (my birth stone) set on two magnetic bands of thorns that draw together as two halves of the same soul forming the obscure heart that is our love,” the American rapper told his 9.3 million Instagram followers.

We never thought we’d see Machine Gun Kelly, Footlocker and drinking blood all in the same sentence.
