Steve Buscemi wins Halloween by dressing as his own iconic ‘How Do you Do Fellow Kids’ meme

There aren’t many people who can dress up as their very own meme on Halloween, but actor Steve Buscemi can, and did, as he dressed as his iconic “fellow kids” meme.

The famous meme originates from an episode of 30 Rock in which Buscemi played the role of a private detective who went undercover as a high school student.

In the meme, he’s dressed in a red hoodie, a backwards cap and a grey t-shirt featuring the words “music band” in AC/DC font. His attempts to blend in also include a skateboard awkwardly flung over his shoulder.

The meme has become commonplace online and is used in response to people or brands who are, rather cringe-worthily and obviously, attempting to appeal to a young audience.

Buscemi delighted trick-or-treaters and passers-by as he was spotted handing out sweets outside his house in Park Slope, Brooklyn dressed as his own iconic meme.

Those lucky enough to spot him posted photos on Twitter for the rest of the world to enjoy and it’s safe to say it went down a storm.

One person commented: “We don’t deserve Steve Buscemi.”

Someone else confirmed: “This is iconic behaviour.”

Another person wrote: “HE EVEN HAS THE SKATEBOARD I AM DEAD I DIED ON HALLOWEEN BECAUSE THIS MADE ME DEAD.”

Other eagle-eyed Twitter users spotted the singer Elvis Costello alongside his neighbour as they pair handed out sweets.

Someone wrote: “I very happily watched my kids trick or treat some candy from Steve tonight knowing full well that they had no clue what his costume was. Elvis Costello was standing beside him, not dressed as anything this year and they right he was a ‘rock guy’ so win all around.”
