A woman who won the Guinness World Record for the hairiest girl in the world has shaved her face after falling in love.

Supata Sasuphan,17, from Bangkok in Thailand suffers from a rare condition called Ambras Syndrome, otherwise known as Werewolf Syndrome, which causes excessive hair growth.

There is no treatment for the syndrome - patients choose to shave, pluck or remove the hair using laser therapy. But for Sasuphan, laser treatment reportedly failed.

Despite her condition, she remained optimistic and defied the bullies at school. At the 2010 Guinness World Records ceremony in Rome she said:

I don't feel any different to anyone else and I've got lots of friends at school.

Only a few people made fun of me, they called me a monkey but now they do not do it anymore.

Sasuphan recently made the decision to shave her face after falling in love, her father told local media.

She sang praises to her partner on her social media account. She said:

You're not just my first lover, you’re the love of my life.
