US State Department
The US State Department in Australia seems to be having a paw-sitively* good time, if their recent email invitation is anything to go by.
An email was sent out by accident featuring a cat dressed in a cookie monster onesie holding a plate of biscuits.
We're here for it.
The email, titled "meeting" went to a number of recipients, including US officials in Canberra.
The department of state quickly apologised for the furr-pas*, calling it a "training error."
US mission to Australia spokesperson Gavin Sundwall told the Australian Associated Press:
Sorry to disappoint those of you who were hoping to attend this 'cat pyjama-jam' party, but such an event falls well outside our area of expertise.Â
It was a training error made by one of our new staff testing out our email newsletter platform.Â
The email included such gems as "cat pyjama-jam" and words in Latin, and gave recipients the option to RSVP.
The US embassy in New Zealand wanted in on the action

And the US Consulate in Sydney
Â
And everyone else...
Â
*No cats were harmed in the making of these puns.
