On Thursday, president Donald Trump held the annual Independence Day parade in Washington DC, near the White House, and unfortunately for him, the weather turned and it rained on his parade.
During the 'salute to America' event, which featured military flyovers, fireworks, and a speech from Trump in which he hailed the 'brave men and women' of the US military, the heavens opened.
Speaking to the gathered crowds in the rain-soaked Lincoln Memorial, Trump said:
We celebrate our history, our people, and the heroes who proudly defend our flag
He also spoke of America's battle for independence, while praising the "extraordinary heritage" of the US:
Together we are part of one of the greatest stories ever told, the story of America.
It goes without saying that Twitter users thought that the whole thing was hilarious, and the hashtag #RainOnTrumpsParade began to trend.
Better luck next time, Mr Trump!
