Boris Johnson mocked for 'still being holiday' as tensions between Iran and the west soar

On Friday the world was plunged into an international crisis after Donald Trump ordered an airstrike which killed the Iranian military official Qassem Soleimani.

Iranhas vowed to take action against the US for the assassination which has gotten everyone very worried that it could lead to a potential global conflict.

This combined with the devastating wildfires that are ravaging Australia, it hasn't been the start to 2020 that many of us would have hoped for.

One man that doesn't seem to be too troubled by current affairs is British prime minister Boris Johnson who is still on holiday in Mustique, an island in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

Johnson and his girlfriend Carrie Symonds jetted off to the exotic location on Boxing Day and haven't been seen since. His Twitter account has been quiet since January 2 and hasn't even mentioned the US-Iran conflict.

This was the last thing he posted...

Despite reportedly not being informed about Trump's airstrike and Dominic Raab, of all people, having to deliver a statement, we are sure that he spoke to members of his cabinet and other world leaders about happenings in the Middle East. Johnson has also reportedly refused to recall parliament to address the crisis because he was not given advanced warning.

That being said people are not happy with Johnson's absence at this time and have begun to mock him on Twitter with some pointing out that he has a habit of going missing during times of crisis.

Even Jeremy Corbyn, who suffered a devastating loss at last month's general election and announced his resignation from the Labour party, has done more than the prime minister in the last 24 hours.

You can always rely on the excellent 'Cold War Steve' to provide us with an insight into what Johnson might be doing in Mustique.

Also, isn't he supposed to be 'getting Brexit done' in less than month?
