Nigel Farage says 'Brexiteers are winning' because he got a new passport

Nigel Farage has a new passport and he’s absolutely delighted. Apparently this is clear evidence that “Brexiteers are winning”.

Before beginning his first LBC show after an entirely undeserved summer holiday, theBrexit architect went to pick up his brand spanking new passport having long complained about the fact that the first two words on it were 'European Union'.

Yes, this is genuinely something that has bothered the former UKIP leader for years.

The words European Union have been removed.

It simply says the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and that says to me the Brexiteers are winning. Hooray! I’m delighted.

It’s hard to work out at what point this became about winning and losing and why the wording on the front of a passport should represent anything but the most pyrrhic of victories, especially given the details of Operation Yellowhammer.

We should be more concerned by what the passports might taste like once the food shortages kick in and desperate times call for desperate measures.

People were unimpressed.
