Cyclist instantly learns why you should never jump a red light

A cyclist learned exactly why it's never a good idea to run a red light - because there might just be a huge bus about to crash into you.

Fortunately, this man, who appeared to run a red light in Manchester last week escaped without any serious injuries after colliding into the side of a double-decker. But it could have been so much worse.

Captf, a programmer and motorcyclist who lives in the city, uploaded the video to YouTube with the caption: "I have zero sympathies for the guy. But, he was OK in the end. If he had been ~1 second sooner, he'd be a smear along the road."

He also added that a man claiming to be the cyclist had commented on his video, explaining that he was going so fast because he thought he'd be able to catch the light and by the time he realised it was too late, his brake cable snapped.

Nevertheless, there's a clear lesson to be learned here: be careful out there, kids.
