Earlier this year, we explained how the word 'kakistocracy' could be the perfect word to describe a Donald Trump government.
Sadly, this was back when a Trump victory looked like an unrealistic warning, rather than the shocking reality it is today.
But now a racist, sexist, misogynistic, xenophobic, Islamophobic, white supremacist-endorsed, hate-tweeting, fact-hating (pause for breath) man is the president-elect of the United States of America (pause for reaction).
So we feel we need to revisit this marvellous word, where all others fail us...
A form of government in which the worst persons are in power; government by the worst element of a society.
And in light of increasingly concerning reports regarding his transition team and possible new government, the term seems more apt than ever.
