Felicity Huffman is one of almost 50 wealthy parents – which includes fellow actress Lori Laughlin – who have been charged by the FBI for allegedly bribing college coaches and entrance exam administrators to get their children into elite universities.

World-famous elite schools like Yale, Stanford and Georgetown were among the universities parents had allegedly tried to cheat their children’s way into. People online have been trying to make light of the situation, which basically destroys the idea of a meritocracy.

One of Huffman's tweets from 2016 hasn’t aged well. She penned this ill-fated tweet:

What are your best “hacks” for the back-to-school season?

People were quick to point out the irony

...Offered some hacks

Also, no bribery

But mostly it was 'just no'

Huffman was charged with conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud. She had been secretly recorded discussing the scheme.

Huffman was released on $250,000 (£19,0085) bail.
