This man has a simple test to prove if you are a feminist

Today is International Men's Day, and the theme this year is male suicide. And this one man has said probably the most logical thing about men, feminism and mental health you'll hear all day.

Blindboy Boatclub, of Irish comedy hip-hop duo Rubber Bandits, said on the Late Late Show that all men need to be feminists.

When I’m down in Limerick speaking to lads that I know who are suffering from mental health issues, when I get to the core of ‘what’s bothering you?’ what they always say to me is ‘I have nothing to offer a woman’.

That is a patriarchal attitude that is no longer relevant to us in the 21st century.

Feminism is not about females being powerful, it’s about redressing a balance about equality. And feminism is a very necessary thing for young men to have.

He said there’s one easy way to find out if you are a feminist:

And if you think you’re a feminist, let a woman pay for your meal and see how you feel about that.

If you’re cool with that, you’re a feminist. If you’re not, you need to look at yourself. 

That’s a lot of sense for a man with a plastic bag over his face.
