Fox News in inevitably offensive segment on Caitlyn Jenner's transition

With almost mind-numbing inevitability, two Fox News presenters repeatedly made fun of Caitlyn Jenner and described her with male pronouns in a segment on Monday night.

Introducing the cover of the latest Vanity Fair, in which the former gold medal-winning decathlete makes her debut as a woman, presenter Neil Cavuto exclaims: "What the hell is going on?!"

The camera then pans over to his equally enlightened colleague Dagen McDowell, who stubbornly describes Jenner with pronouns "he" and "him" and repeatedly refers to her former identity of Bruce.

Bruce Jenner, let's give him credit. He's the only person on planet Earth who knows how to one up his most famous step-daughter Kim Kardashian. She announces last night that she's pregnant with a second child, well 'I can do you one better than that'. That's how he unveiled his new identity.

Fox clearly didn't want to miss out on the first opportunity it got to judge Jenner by her appearance either. A sneering McDowell continues:

What about... that outfit? It's a white... satin... corset. Very Playboy bunny-esque. Is it not, Neil? If you're going to unveil yourself as a woman you can't really get better than that...

But the worst part, in case you thought it couldn't possibly get any worse, comes when Davuto switches into the next segment and introduces his guest Charles Payne as "Charlene" to wild cackling in the studio.

"What do you make of all that, huh?" he asks Payne out the side of his mouth. "Uhh, it's the era that we live," Payne replies. "Rome, final days," Davuto sighs.
