Gaza protest in French suburb descends into anti-Semitic riot

Pro-Palestinian demonstrations in France turned into an anti-Semitic riot yesterday.

Jewish-owned businesses and a synagogue were targeted in Sarcelles, a suburb just outside Paris. Sunday's protest had been banned by authorities.

French interior minister Bernard Cazeneuve told journalists "nothing can justify anti-Semitism, noting can justify that kind of violence. This will be fought and sanctioned."
