We all know the ultimate compliment from a teenager is to deem something “cool”.
To be cool in the eyes of a selective, moody, unimpressed-by-everything teen is not an easy feat.
But one survey has revealed what teens bestow the coveted “cool” badge to.
The survey, “It’s Lit: A guide to what teens think is cool,” involved 1,100 teens aged 13 to 17.
When asked what’s cool, there was a big gender divide. Boys were most likely to say “video games,” whereas girls voted clothes, fashion and beauty, and music.
The coolest music included Drake, The Beatles, Panic at the Disco, Beyonce and Coldplay.
And here’s what brands they ranked as most cool:
- YouTube
- Netflix
- Oreo
- Xbox
- GoPro
- Playstation
- Dories
- Chrome
If you’re wondering how a web browser made it up there with biscuits and savoury snacks, the survey was carried out by Google.
The least cool brands were:
- The Wall Street Journal
- Vice
Uncool brands also included:
- Quicksilver
- McDonalds
- Yahoo
- Red Bull
