Ace Ventura and Bruce Almighty actor Jim Carrey may be most known for his slapstick style of comedy acting, but recently he has turned his hand to art to highlight his distaste for the Trump administration.

Posting various paintings on his Twitter, his latest creation depicting the former First Lady Melania Trump has been labelled as sexist by some.

The caricature mocks Melania and represents her as a somewhat sinister character. Meanwhile, surrounding the image Carrey has written a message of his own showing his disdain, reading:

“Oh... and goodbye worst first lady. I hope the settlement can finance your life in the shallow end. Thx for nothing.”

While some were amused by it and found the likeness to Melania very similar, others took offence calling his picture “sexist” and an “attack [on] the first lady who did her job with grace and dignity.”

Reactions to his artwork were varied to say the least:

For some, the humour was lost, and Carrey’s artwork sparked accusations that he was bullying Melania.

This piece of art is not the first to show what Carrey thinks about the current political climate. He’s also painted unflattering images of Donald Trump and, following the riots on Capitol Hill, the actor also recreated the now infamous image of the man carrying a podium and merrily waving.

Who knew he was a man of such varied interests?
