Something strange is happening on Twitter since the Brazil election results came out.

In case you don't know, the people of Brazil have just elected a man, Jair Bolsonaro , as president who is described unflatteringly as the 'Brazilian Trump'.

What might be considered a bizarre reaction, the people of Brazil have cried out for help from one person in particular; Harry Potter author J.K Rowling.

All of the tweets are referencing Harry Potter in some way, invoking the feeling of surpassing evil and it's equal parts funny, charming and heart-wrenching to see.

One person brought a copy of the book with them to vote

Another person invoked the stoic image of Dumbledore

This person clings to hope despite the 'dark phase'

Referring to Jair Bolsonaro as Voldemort

Asking J.K Rowling to send some magic

Taking notes from Harry Potter, this person is hopeful despite the overwhelming odds

Another called Bolsonaro Voldemort

This person went for a more recent reference with Gindlewald

Hope comes in all shapes and sizes after all, and who doesn't secretly hope that J.K Rowling will swoop in one day and solve all our problems?
