Kim Kardashian has found herself in hot water after being accused of racism for her choice of Halloween costume.
The reality TV star and wife of Kanye West shared a number of her costume inspirations on social media over the weekend.
She and her sister Kourtney pulled off a very convincing take on Madonna and Michael Jackson.

She and her fellow Keeping Up with the Kardashains star Jonathan Cheban, both dressed as Sonny and Cher, which the legendary singer approved of.

Whereas those outfits went down quite well with the general public, one of her outfits proved to be less popular.
On Sunday the 37-year-old star shared a video of her dressed as the deceased R 'n' B singer Aaliyah.

What people took offence to was that Aaliyah is a black woman and Kim is not.
Twitter users were quick to comment on the video, condemning Kim for her choice of costume.
Other people did come to her defence, highlighting that she didn't wear black face for the outfit and there was little to be offended about.

Some pointed out that actress Keke Palmer beat Kim Kardashian to it and arguably did it better.
Kim is yet to respond to any of these allegations but this incident serves as a good reminder that we should all be conscious of what outfits we choose to wear at this time of year.
