This couple set a nasty, smelly trap for a serial thief - and he fell for it

A persistent thief got a nasty surprise when he discovered the package he’d stolen was actually full of dog poo.

Riverside, California resident Mike Zaremba was having a problem with a crook repeatedly taking packages left in his driveway, with three having gone missing since he and his wife moved in. So he thought he'd lay a trap for the thief.

It was his pet Great Dane’s birthday, and his wife held a party for her, inviting over seven of her best pooch pals. This understandably left a *lot* of doggie droppings in the back yard, so Zaremba scooped them up and put them in a cardboard box, and left them on the porch. And soon enough, the thief dived in and grabbed it.

The box had poo from "seven to eight" different dogs in it.

Understandably, he wasn't happy with his stolen booty. Ronel Newton of the Riverside Police Department (who later tracked down the thief) told local news channel CBS2:

He dropped it as soon as he found out. He didn’t want nothing to do with it and kept on riding.
