The one thing you must see in every country, according to tourists

Before you trek off on a once in a lifetime trip you need to get your ducks in a row. Itineraries need to be created, routes planned and landmarks logged so you don't miss an ounce of culture or intrigue.

To help make ensure budding tourists don't miss the important locations Vouchercloud have compiled a map that shows the top-rated “thing to do” in every country in the world.

Some of the locations listed on the map house the most famous sites in the world.

Machu Picchu in Peru, Niagara Falls in Canada, Sydney Harbour Bridge in Australia, the Colosseum in Italy and the Taj Mahal in India, for example.

Some however, have seasoned travellers scratching their heads - is Harry Potter World really the best thing to do in the UK? What about Buckingham Palace, Big Ben and all those castles and Abbeys?

Perhaps reassuringly to environmentalists, the majority of the destinations are natural wonders, of the 197 countries there are 76 natural attractions, 54 historic attractions, 29 religious attractions and 38 which Vouchercloud calls “generic tourist attractions”
