It should be one of the happiest days of people's lives, but for some people their wedding day can turn into one of the worst.

Brides and grooms who have been left at the altar have been sharing their experiences on anonymous messaging app Whisper.

Here are 11 people who have explained what happened to them, what went through their mind and what they did in the aftermath:
