Man arrested for breaking into restaurant and making himself a pizza before stealing $500

A 25 year-old man stopped to make himself a pizza in the middle of robbing a restaurant, according to California police.

Oscar Alexander Sanchez is accused of breaking into Big Slice Pizza and stealing $500, beer and electronics before driving off in a delivery car. He is currently in custody.

Security footage of the incident shows a man handling a pizza base in the restaurant.

Fullerton Police, who shared the video, said:

This guy had the audacity to not only break in, but also steal their tablets and cash! Before he stole their delivery car to leave, he couldn’t resist his craving and helped himself to making a pizza pie!

The restaurant's manager, Rafael Calles, told a local CBS outlet:

He tried to make a pizza. He tried to make something for himself. Maybe he was hungry.

17 years of business, first time it happened. For us, it was a big hit because we had to close the store, make a report, call service to restore the service for the store, so we can keep in operation.

Yeah, it’s kind of funny, but hey, we got hit, and it’s not nice. It’s not right.

Calles was reportedly told that the thief forced his way into the restaurant through the patio door and that he was carrying a toy gun. He then allegedly spent more than two hours in the restaurant.

According to The Orange County Register, Sanchez has since been charged with grand theft, grand theft auto, second degree burglary and possession of burglary tools.

Police were able to recover some of the stolen items, including the delivery car.

It seems the thief didn't make much dough after all.
