Friday 24th June has been possibly the most momentous day in modern British history.

We'll tell our grandchildren where we were and what we were doing when the UK voted to leave the European Union. We'll start stories with things like, 'In my day, we could cross borders whenever we felt like it, but then there were two recessions before I turned 30, so I couldn't afford to travel anyway.'

If you want a fleeting moment of relief, look no further than the brilliant Andy Borowitz over at the New Yorker.

Let's face it, if he can't make you laugh on a day like today, no one can:

"BRITISH LOSE RIGHT TO CLAIM THAT AMERICANS ARE DUMBER", his not-actually-satirical headline reads.

Well. We'll see in November, we guess.
