Despite bearing more resemblance to a goat, and only achieving speeds of up to 10mph, researchers at MIT have dubbed their latest plaything a 'robotic cheetah'.
Nevertheless, the electric-powered invention is highly impressive, and with speeds expected to eventually exceed 30mph, the scientists hope to better understand the locomotion of four-legged animals and then transfer that technology to the development of prosthetic limbs.
They even think the invention may eventually overtake the car as the world's main means of transportation - imagine riding this thing to work...
