Back when the idea of a Trump presidency campaign was likely nothing more than a vague notion in Donald Trump's head to boost ailing ratings of The Apprentice, he had some interesting ideas about impeachment.
Ever-critical of Barack Obama, the property tycoon posed a question that’s doubtless plagued many of us in recent years.
On 4 June 2014, Trump asked his Twitter followers:
Are you allowed to impeach a president for gross incompetence?
As the news broke that Nancy Pelosi had launched an impeachment inquiry after a whistleblower alleged Trump threatened to withhold military aid to coerce the Ukrainian president into digging up dirt on political rival Joe Biden, this ill-advised tweet became more pertinent than ever.
People reacted much as you'd expect.
Guess you’re finally about to find out. https://t.co/NC0ffj6HRe— James Felton (@James Felton) 1569361136
