Trump gets roasted on Twitter for saying his State of the Union speech was 'well received'

Donald Trump's rather underwhelming State of the Union speech on Tuesday has been one of the biggest talking points of the week.

This was not because of what he said, though, but for all the extracurricular activity that was triggered by the event.

Everything from Nancy Pelosi clapping, to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez staring and even a small child falling asleep attracted headlines.

Yet, the president's actual words were heavily criticised for comments about AIDS and abortions, with the likes of Stacey Abrams and Ocasio-Cortez publicly lambasting his words.

Somehow, this criticism has managed to avoid Trump who tweeted late on Thursday evening that he pleased to hear how well his speech had been received and thanked everyone.

People didn't quite see it the same way as Trump and were quick to let him know that his speech wasn't all that.

People began to reply with clips of THAT Pelosi clap back.

Joshua Trump, the child who fell asleep also made an appearance.

Some speculated that it would be his last State of the Union speech before Robert Mueller comes knocking.

At least these Trump supporters thought it was good.
