Trump supporters in the US states of Ohio, Michigan and North Carolina who are unhappy with the strict lockdown laws that have been imposed upon them, have staged protests to get the sanctions lifted.
This is obviously quite worrying as all of these people are potentially exposing themselves and spreading coronavirus to others. It's even more concerning when you factor in that the US has reported more cases of coronavirus than any other country in the world.
However, the demonstrators in Columbus, Ohio found have turned into a comical affair after photographer Joshua A Bickel captured a snap of a group of protestors congregating outside the statehouse atrium. Here's the picture:

People immediately noticed that this had a striking similarity to imagery from various zombie horror movies and TV shows like Dawn of the Dead, Shaun of the Dead and The Walking Dead and thus a meme was born.

Meanwhile, in Michigan the protest has been named 'Operation Gridlock' and their governor, Democrat Gretchen Whitmer has said their mass presence might have made the states coronavirus crisis worse, as it is already dealing with more than 28,000 confirmed cases. Whitmer is quoted by Washington Post as saying:
We know that this demonstration is going to come at a cost to people’s health. We know that when people gather that way without masks … that’s how covid-19 spreads. And so the sad irony here is that the protest was that they don’t like being in this stay-at-home order, and they may have just created a need to lengthen it, which is something we’re trying to avoid at all costs.
