Trump thanks himself in Thanksgiving tweet. Yes, really

Solar eclipses, global warming, basic human decency – there’s lots of things Donald Trump doesn’t understand.

Despite having lived through 72 Thanksgivings, Trump doesn't seem to know how Thanksgiving works.

While the rest of America spent the holiday expressing their gratitude for family, health, and other blessings, the president tweeted things he was thankful for. But instead of acknowledging his children, his wife or even his voters, he expressed his gratitude to… himself.

Ramping up his already high levels of pettiness, Trump thanked himself on behalf of all ungrateful citizens. He singled out oil prices as the main reason for this announcement.

Even more bizarrely, he personally thanked Saudi Arabia. The Saudi Arabian government has openly admitted to killing Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi. But Trump not only refused to condemn them, but released a statement reiterating his appreciation for his Saudi Arabian allies in light of this terrible act. He also called them a "tremendous ally".

There are whispers that the new democratic majority in Congress will be looking into his suspicious ties to the Saudis, while the ongoing investigation into Russian collusion in the 2016 election continues.

So this Thanksgiving, let's all be thankful for those stepping up to hold the president to account - because it seems like he needs it.
