This week numerous 'explosive devices' have been sent to critics of Donald Trump, including Barack Obama, Robert De Niro and Hillary Clinton.
In times like this, you would hope that even her strongest of critics would show some sympathy.
That wasn't the case at a Republican rally in Wisconsin where crowds chanted "lock her up" just hours after the device was sent to her and Bill Clinton's home in New York.
It was a similar sight in the White House on Friday, where young conservative supporters of Trump chanted "CNN sucks" just days after the news network was also a target in the bomb scares.
This was shortly after the arrest of 56-year-old Cesar Sayoc, who is suspected of sending the packages and whose van was seen to be covered in stickers supporting Trump and attacking his critics.
One sticker read 'CNN Sucks' a phrase later repeated by the crowds at the Young Black Leadership Summit in the East Room of the prestigious house.
Benny Johnson of the right-wing news outlet The Daily Caller shared the footage on Twitter calling it a 'sight to behold' and also claimed that other critical chants were shouted.
This could just be a coincidence between the images of Sayoc's van being revealed and this incident but it is just another example of Trump's dangerous rhetoric towards his opponents filtering down to his supporters regardless of the recent threats made to people's lives.
Trump did make reference to the arrest of the 56-year-old suspect from Florida and called on Americans to unify in these uncertain times.
We must show the world that we are united together in peace and love and harmony as fellow American citizens.
There is no country like our country and every day we are showing the world just how truly great we are.
However, as his speech went on his language turned more critical with jibes being aimed at the Democrats, 'globalists', the media and more promotion of his 'America First' ideals.
Racist? Racist? Why is that [saying America First] racist?
Here we are, I think, does everyone in this room agree? You’re living in America. America first, right?
Every citizen benefits when we stop foreign countries cheating our workers. That’s what they’ve been doing, you know?
They’re called globalists. They like the globe. I like the globe too but we have to take care of our people.
This prompted further calls from the audience which included 'George Soros' and 'lock 'em up.'
When Trump referenced the caravan of refugees in Mexico it was greeted with boos and cries of 'build that wall.'
