Ukip conference-goers apparently stranded as taxi drivers had day off for Eid

Yesterday Muslims around the world celebrated Eid al-Adha, one of Islam's two official religious holidays.

Wednesday also happened to be the day that many Ukip supporters were arriving in Doncaster for the party's autumn conference.

As the BBC's Peter Henley relayed:

Serendipity, we love you. And a belated Eid Mubarak to all.

Update: Henley later tweeted he did manage to get a taxi to the Ukip conference... with Katie Hopkins.
