Watch this crazy skydiver set fire to her parachute mid-air for no real reason

In a stunt that seems both incredibly dangerous and quite pointless, skydiver Brianne Thompson has released a video of herself setting fire to her parachute in mid-air.

As she hurtles towards the ground, the Arizona flight school instructor whips out a flare, fires it up into the canopy and watches on as fiery hell unleashes itself above.

Thankfully she had a spare chute and landed safely on terra firma shortly afterwards.
