Unless you've been living under a rock you'll know that 2020 has got off to a bumper start with a possible war between the USA and Iran.
Tensions between the two nations have risen to an all-time high after the US launched airstrikes against Iran in retaliation to protests outside its US embassy in Iraq. Qassem Soleimani, who leads Iran’s elite Quds force, was killed. The US has called its actions “defensive” but Iran has labelled it “state terrorism”.
Soon, World War III began to trend on Twitter, because of course it did.
But something else soon began trending too...
In a rather unfortunate social media mishap, this new campaign by Weight Watchers – with a hilarious hashtag – was trending at the exact same time as World War III.
People noticed on Twitter, which provided some much needed comic relief to the feeling that war could be imminent.
All publicity is good publicity, right?
