In an online poll conducted by the Guardian, 80 per cent of respondents said it was the best thing Nick Clegg had ever done.

He seamlessly blends aspects of being part of the liberal establishment...

... and looks genuinely happy to be at a football match.

Let's be honest, this could have looked very awkward if any of the other party leaders had attempted it.

That seems like a genuine candid smile, even if young baby Edward looks none too impressed.
