These are the most valuable global brands, according to Millward Brown's annual list. Apple has overtaken Google to grab the top spot, while McDonald's has fallen four places. The top 10 is below:

  2. Google, $173.6bn, up 9% (-1)
  3. Microsoft, $115bn, up 28% (+1)
  4. IBM, $93.9bn, down 13% (-1)
  5. Visa, $91.9bn, up 16% (+2)
  6. AT&T, $89.4bn, up 15% (+2)
  7. Verizon, $86bn, up 36% (+4)
  8. Coca Cola, $83.8bn, up 4% (-2)
  9. McDonald’s, $81bn, down 5% (-4)
  10. Marlboro, $80bn, up 19% (-1)
