Google left the tech world pretty non-plussed this summer after the announcement it is restructuring its porfolio under a new parent company called Alphabet Inc.
When it turned out that alphabet.com was already owned by BMW though, Google - or Alphabet - went for abc.xyz instead.
DomainInvesting.com was first to spot recently that the company must be afraid of a repeat of what happened in August, and is covering its bases by buying the domain for the whole alphabet too.
So, abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz.com is now a Google-owned website. The URL was created in 1999, and it's not known how much Google paid for the not exactly user-friendly name.
"We realised we missed a few letters in abc.xyz, so we're just being thorough," a Google spokesperson said in a statement.
There's nothing up there yet, but if you can be bothered to type the whole thing out, it might be worth checking in again soon.
