In July last year, pop star Ariana Grande licked a doughnut.

She was in Wolfee Donuts in California. A video published on celebrity news site TMZ showed Grande licking a doughnut while the treat was still on the counter, and declaring "I hate America" while suggesting they were one of the primary causes for America's obesity problem.

Grande's famous lick didn't lead to criminal charges, but it did stop her from performing for President Obama, Gawker picked up from an email in the new Wikileaks Democratic party document cache.

A hugely detailed summary in the cache of the hacked emails shows the White House vetoed a performance because she was caught licking doughnuts.

Democratic National Convention Finance Chair Zachary Allen asked last September for Grande to be vetted for a gala performance.

“Can we also vet Arianna Grande?” he asked.

Deputy Compliance Director Kevin Snowden (yes, Snowden), noted Grande had no criminal charges and was financially sound...

...but also said:

Video caught her licking other peoples’ donuts while saying she hates America; Republican Congressman used this video and said it was a double standard that liberals were not upset with her like they are with Trump who criticized Mexicans; cursed out a person on Twitter after that person used an offensive word towards her brother.

It led to White House employee 'Bobby Schmuck' replying with the words: “Nope, sorry.”

Here's the full email thread on WikiLeaks.
