Warning: Spoilers ahead.

We like films over at indy100. Comedies. Action. Romance. Animation. World Cinema. You name it. We'll watch it.

Now, just because we said that doesn't mean that we are going to hail The Devil Wear's Prada as a masterpiece (c'mon it's no RoboCop).

The story of young college graduate Andy (Anne Hathaway) trying to make it in the cutthroat world of fashion magazines and survive her ruthless boss Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep) is immensely entertaining and has won legions of fans since the release in 2006.

However people's love for that film was tested to limits recently when their whole perception of the plot was reversed.

This was thanks to a deleted scene discovered by Buzzfeed's Spencer Althouse, which he shared on Twitter:

If you are unfamiliar with why that scene is problematic, consider this: Meryl Streep is the literal devil in the title of the movie.

The premise of the movie is that she unceasingly torments her staff and the pay off is only a curt nod at the end of the film.

No way would she ever thank you her young assistant for such a small gesture of unselfishness.

In addition, Emily (Emily Blunt) would never do Andy a favour like that.

To put it bluntly, everything about this is wrong, wrong, wrong.

Thank goodness it was left on the cutting room floor as it would have otherwise ruined the remainder of the movie.

Comments on Spencer's post seemed to agree.

This reminds us of other awful deleted scenes such as this shocking ending to Blade Runner.

And this from Terminator 3 which just mocks the entire legend of the story.

Thank God for editors.
