EastEnders star fluffs crucial line in live scene

EastEnders fans will finally discover who killed Lucy Beale this week.

In the meantime, efforts to solve the mystery were hampered on Tuesday after a character appeared to fluff a crucial line at the end of a live episode.

Max Branning, played by actor Jake Wood, told his on-screen daughter Abi Branning "you killed Lucy". But on Twitter, fans were confused as to whether he said "you" or "who". After retweeting much of the confusion, Wood clarified his comments, writing:

The show's executive producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins recently told the Guardian he thought fans would be "slightly disappointed" if nothing went wrong this week during live scenes as part of the show's 30th anniversary celebrations

"Obviously we will do everything to make sure it doesn't but the possibility is there. It becomes like a performance of a play - lines can be slipped and cues missed. But that's part of the live experience." As long as everyone's happy...
