Former WWE wrestler Kane dressed up as The Cat in the Hat and the internet is lost for words

These days politicians have to do a lot of weird stuff to stay ahead in the polls, including singing and tweeting about RuPaul's Drag Race (see Theresa May's tweet from a few days ago).

However, we're unsure if we've ever seen anything like the lengths that Glenn Jacobs, the mayor of Knox County, Tennessee, has gone to in order to promote 'Read Across America Day'.

Jacobs, who is a former WWE wrestler going under the moniker of Kane, a horribly traumatised individual with an affinity for fire, posted a video on his Twitter account on Friday inviting folks to join him at the Bearden Branch Library, where he would be reading the classic Dr Seuss book The Cat in the Hat.

However, Jacobs decided that a simple reading of the book wouldn't suffice and that they needed a special guest to help with proceedings. No, it wasn't his wrestling brother The Undertaker, but Jacobs dressed as The Cat in the Hat.

Cue what is probably one of the most cringe and genuinely unbelievable videos this particular writer has even seen on the internet.

Please bear in mind that this man is a former two-time world heavyweight champion, once went by the name of 'The Big Red Machine' and has committed heinous acts like attacking a priest and electrocuting a man's genitals.

Needless to say, folks on Twitter didn't quite know what to think either.

To make things even better, here is a video of Jacobs dressed up as The Cat in the Hat and it really is perfect.
