Lost Disney film unearthed after 87 years

Meet Oswald the Lucky Rabbit and his wife the cat Ortensia, two of Disney's earliest characters.

An animation featuring the precursors to both Mickey Mouse and Warner Bros' Bugs Bunny has been found in the archive of the British Film Institute.

Sleigh Bells is an 87-year-old film re-discovered at the National Archive in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, by a Disney researcher.

Oswald was invented by Walt Disney himself in 1927 and was apparently known for his rebellious personality. Other films featuring the rabbit have survived, but Sleigh Bells had been unseen since the 1930s.
