People think only Love Island viewers should be allowed to vote in the next election

Just like that, it’s all over.

After weeks of watching the muggy behaviour of Brits in Mallorca cracking on (and off, and on) with each other, ITV’s flagship dating show Love Island has crowned its winners.

Underdogs Amber Gill and Greg O’Shea took the crown, in a result that few excepted, but many more were happy with.

The perfectly lovely (but boring) Molly Mae Hague and Tommy Fury – long considered shoe-ins for the crown – narrowly lost out as Amber and Greg opted to split the £50,000 prize.

Love Island viewers opting for the unexpectedly great choice has caught a lot of people off guard.

Did the British public, for once, make… The right choice? Could it be?

This has got people thinking that, just maybe, Britain can be trusted to vote on things again. Fans of the show have even suggested a general election should be called, where only Love Island viewers are eligible to vote.

Should Boris crack on with calling a general election? Or will his head be turned?
