Mad Max: Fury Road without special effects is still pretty great

Mad Max: Fury Road deservedly won plaudits for its strong female characters.

While feminism is at the film's core, there would be no movie without the car chases or special effects.

Actually that last part is not completely true, as when you take away the special effects from the George Miller film, as Sploid has done, it still actually looks very impressive.
