Martin Scorsese'sown daughter has trolled her dad by wrapping his Christmas present in Marvel-themed paper.
If you aren't quite up to speed with why this is so funny, allow us to explain.
Earlier this year the famed director of films such as Taxi Driver, Goodfellas and The Irishman told Empire that he didn't deem Marvel movies as a true representation of cinema.
Of course, Scorsese's comments got blown out of proportion and other directors started to agree with him. On the other side of the coin, people got very angry and passionately disagreed with him.
This lead to the 77-year-old penning a very eloquent open letter in the New York Timesexplaining his position and why he said what he said.
That effectively put the story to bed but it would appear that the debacle is still something of a joke in the Scorsese family.
In an Instagram story Francesca Scorsese who is the 20-year-old daughter on the cinema legend and filmmaker herself, revealed that the gift she was giving her dad was wrapped in Avengers paper, sporting superheroes like Captain America, Hulk, Black Panther and Iron Man.
We can only hope that the present was either a boxset of rare Japanese films or a Blu Ray of Avengers: Endgame. It's only a hunch but we think Scorsese would prefer the former.
