Hey internet!
By now you've probably seen Avengers: Infinity War at least twice - but this writer hasn't, so don't worry about spoilers if you happen to be one of the few remaining people on the planet who hasn't seen it yet.
The film has had an incredible opening weekend and, according to the last box office reports, was on course for a staggering $240-million + opening weekend.
In the all-time box office rankings for a US opening weekend, it now sits in second place narrowly behind Star Wars: The Force Awakens and ahead of Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
It's likely to earn a lot more money over the coming weeks and could well end up being the highest grossing movie of all-time, which is great for the fans who have invested so much time into these stories and the characters.
Not one to miss out on all the fun, Ryan Reynolds, whose own superhero Deadpool has a new movie out soon, sent a request letter to his fellow heroes, specifically Iron Man.
The hilarious note sees Deadpool ask for a spot in the Avengers only to be shut down rather emphatically.
From a guy who never knows when to quit, I’m glad you guys never did. Congrats #Avengers. https://t.co/voJshTKx5E— Ryan Reynolds (@Ryan Reynolds) 1525014438
It reads as a response from Tony Stark:
Re: Joining the Avengers
No.
Absolutely not.
Go bother Prof. X
No.
Sincerely,
Tony Stark.
Professor X be like...
Reynolds tweet quickly went viral picking up over 92,000 retweets at the time of writing.
Needless to say, the internet loved it.
Well, worth a try...We still love ya Wade... #Deadpool2 https://t.co/Yo1dePrMOo— Comic Book Nostalgia (@Comic Book Nostalgia) 1525034218
