For many people of a certain generation, The Simpsons was a formative show that shaped our lives and what we appreciated about comedy and television.
Yet as kids, it was easy to forget the show was mostly aimed at adults and would regularly feature references to sex and drugs, which would have gone over the vast majority of young people's heads.
In an effort to learn some of the jokes that completely flew over the heads of our younger selves, the Twitter account Simpsons Daily asked their followers which jokes they didn't understand as kids.
They kicked off proceedings by sharing a clip from the Season 7 episode 'Homerpalooza' where a guy from Homer's past referred to his van as the 'second base mobile', which the user admits to thinking was actually the 'second bass mobile'.
Simpsons fans responded in their droves and let's just say that the vast majority of us were very naive and innocent children.
