Phoebe Waller-Bridge's version of Love Island might be better than the real thing

Phoebe Waller-Bridge's version of Love Island might be better than the real thing

It's rare to see Saturday Night Live take a swipe at British culture, after all with Trump they've got enough problems to be dealing with.

However, on the most recent episode of the show, which was hosted by Fleabag's Phoebe Waller-Bridge, the cast did their best impression of everyone's favourite reality show; Love Island.

Waller-Bridge and the gang of SNL regulars adopted over-the-top stereotypes of the usual British and Irish folks that you see on Love Island, only with added ridiculousness.

The Fleabag star plays a woman from Essex called Bella-Rosa whose Dad is a 'boxer' and mother is a 'pub' and has lips that look like an 'allergic-reaction.'

Other highlights include Siobhan who is from a 'part of Ireland where the soil is bones' and Cecily Strong's attempt at a Liverpudlian accent.

Needless to say, it's probably better than the real thing that seems to consume our lives every summer. You can watch the full skit in the video below.
