The world's most popular throwback Thursday songs

The top #TBT (throwback Thursday) tunes have been announced, so hold onto your beanie babies - it’s one for the 90s kids.

Taken from over 80,000 playlists including #TBT or "throwback Thursday" in the title, the results reaffirm Spotify’s key demographic - millennials.

Most of the songs come from the 90s and noughties R&B or pop, which scream of awkward house parties filled with boys with too much gel in their hair.

Surprisingly there’s no Queen or T Rex in sight.

Unsurprisingly, R. Kelly’s ‘Ignition’ tops the guilty pleasure chart.

Here are the top five:

2) Usher, Lil Jon, Ludacris – ‘Yeah!’

4) Shaggy – ‘It Wasn't me’
