Jeremy Clarkson has been mocked by Leicester’s James Maddison after the former Top Gear presenter took a jab at the footballer for his miss against Chelsea in the 1-1 draw on Sunday.

Clarkson, a Chelsea supporter, tweeted the following after his team escaped with a draw from Frank Lampard’s first home game as manager:

James Maddison. Too long at the barber’s. Not enough time practicing football.

Despite the miss, Maddison was named man of the match following a creditable result at Stamford Bridge for The Foxes.

Maddison wasn’t going to take this lying down, however, and quoted the original Clarkson tweet along with his own message for the presenter:

Stick to cars mate. Can count on 1 hand how many trims you’ve got left #thin

An open goal but it still needed to be converted.
