Brooklyn Beckham mocked for breakfast sandwich ‘recipe’

Brooklyn Beckham appeared on NBC’s Today Show to cook something “really special” to him, a British breakfast sandwich. And social media did not hold back.

The 22-year-old switched his camera for the kitchen after he told the TV hosts, “I’ve always loved food.”

“When quarantine hit, I really just started to get into it. My fiance started filming me and I started posting it,” he said.

“It’s just something that I love doing.”

The eldest son of David Beckham and Victoria Beckham then made his breakfast sandwich, containing bacon, sausage and egg on white bread.

However, Brooklyn didn’t actually do any “cooking” as such. He simply removed the pre-cooked meat from the pan, assembled the sandwich and topped it with tomato ketchup.

Despite the career change, Brooklyn did say that his great-grandma taught him how to make the British breakfast sandwich, which made it “really special to [him].”

But social media had no mercy and took to Twitter to chime in on the action.

Piers Morgan posted the clip and added: “Worst, most unutterably pointless segment in morning television history?”

“Things I will never get bored of - Brooklyn Beckham having a career change,” another tweeted. “The picture of an elephant in his photography book will forever be remembered.”

“His talents are unparalleled”, another joked.

This is the second time the Beckhams’ have made food-related headlines.

Recently, Victoria revealed she’s a restaurant’s “worst nightmare” thanks to her plain food palette.

When asked what her favourite comfort food was, she told Ruth Rogers on the River Café’s Table 4 podcast, salt on toast.

“This is where I sound even more boring in the food department. I like whole-grain toast with salt on it. It’s that carbohydrate that makes you feel comforted and I love salt,” the 47-year-old revealed.
